The
Dark Souls series is one of the most beloved franchises of the of the last decade. Publisher Bandai Namco seems to understand it well, bringing the first
Dark Souls into this generation of way more powerful (6 teraflops! Jaguar APU!) consoles, and of course, PC. Hopefully, the remaster of
Dark Souls will put the power of PlayStation 4 (Pro), Xbox One (X), PC, and even Nintendo Switch to good use.
The official PlayStation YouTube channel, PlayStation Underground and one and only Digital Foundry have prepared three informative videos that gives us our first detailed look at
Dark Souls Remastered.
It looks like
Dark Souls Remastered is shaping up nicely, but it doesn't share the ambition of this year's
Shadow of the Colossus to build it from scratch. The graphical tweaks are small, with the biggest innovation being pushing the resolution and frame rate on PS4 Pro to 1800p and 60fps. The game was tested only on the PS4 and the Xbox One X version should look even better, not to mention the PC.
Re-experience the critically acclaimed, genre-defining game that started it all. Beautifully remastered, return to Lordran in stunning high-definition detail running at 60fps. Dark Souls Remastered includes the main game plus the Artorias of the Abyss DLC.
Dark Souls Remastered is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on May 25th.
