Dragon Age: Inquisition released back in 2016 and a teaser trailer for the next instalment in the series debuted during The Game Awards 2018 — which you can check out below. Back in May, some major Anthem developers dropped out of the recent title to work on the next Dragon Age game — more on that here.

During their recent earnings call, Electronic Arts provided an update on the Bioware game and it's certainly not good news for fans of the fantasy role-playing game series.

Reputable industry insider Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) recently relayed that Dragon Age 4 is indeed development at Bioware but it won't be releasing until at least April 2022 and for the PlayStation 5, at that.

"Dragon Age is out there, we've talked about it publicly, it probably comes after Fiscal 2022. You should assume it's out there and plans are under way for that product," said EA Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen.

Hopefully, the amount of time that Bioware has to work on Dragon Age 4 will be reflected by the game itself as the studio could really do with a hit after their failure of their most recent releases — those being Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem.
