Back in December,
Atlus had teased about new announcements in regards to the Persona series, revealing that these announcements would be made official at some point in March of this year.
A new Persona game was rumored in February, although Atlus didn't confirm or deny the rumor, and it was revealed that the game in question was called
Persona 5S, which would be releasing for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
Today, Atlus has finally confirmed that the so-called
Persona 5S is, indeed, a real game that has now been officially named
Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers.
This brand-new game is an action RPG and is being developed by Koei Tecmo and Omega Force, the same developers that have given us the
Samurai Warriors series, and have even teamed up with Nintendo to deliver
Hyrule Warriors and
Fire Emblem Warriors.
Not much is known about
Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, as Atlus didn't even reveal a tentative release window, but it does look like the game will be leaning more towards its action side rather than it being a full-fledged RPG, so we'll have to wait for more information on this title.
