The ever-expanding THQ Nordic empire just got even bigger, as the studio has acquired Piranha Bytes.
Piranha is a Bochum-based game developer responsible for some of the most famous role-playing games in Central Europe, including hits like Gothic, Risen 2: Dark Waters, and their most recent Elex.
“Piranha is one of the most iconic German game studios and the creators of RPG´s Gothic, Risen and, more recently, Elex," THQ Nordic CEO Lars Wingefors explained in a press release. "The three strong IPs have proven successful and will be great additions to our portfolio. “We have a successful and long-standing relationship with THQ Nordic and are very excited to join the group," Piranha Bytes CEO Michael Ruve added.
