Previously, Netflix announced plans for an anime film set in between season 1 and season 2 of The Witcher. However, it sounds as if that project will (at the very least) take place long before Geralt became a badass monster killer.
That's because the anime film will focus on Geral't mentor Vesemir. The description of the show in a press release from Netflix reads:
"Long before mentoring Geralt, Vesemir begins his own journey as a witcher after the mysterious Deglan claims him through the Law of Surprise."
While Vesemir doesn't appear in the live-action Netflix series, we do hear his voice in the season 1 finale. If it sounded familiar, that's because it's the voice of Underworld and Divergent mainstay Theo James. James appears to have a strong relationship with Netflix as he's already voiced Hector in the Castlevania anime and Rek'yr in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
Stay tuned for future updates on all things Witcher as we anticipate word on a fourth installment in the video game series and updates on season 2 of the live-action adaptation.
