Sonic Mania Plus is only a few days away from releasing and the game will be coming for consoles and PC as an add-on to the original Sonic Mania, or as a physical/digital copy for people who didn't own the game—which obviously includes all the content featured in the original game.
Players who choose to get the
Sonic Mania Plus package will get the physical copy of the game with a holographic package, a brilliant reversible cover that reminisces of the classic Sega Genesis/Mega Drive covers, a
Sonic Mania art book with 30-plus pages, 4-player competition mode, and Mighty and Ray as playable characters—making it a pretty great deal for fans of the blue hedgehog.
Sonic Mania Plus will include two new playable characters, Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel, as well as new stages, and a brand new Encore Mode that will keep things fresh for players who have already gone through
Sonic Mania. The game is also adding a few extras, that will surely be a welcomed change, like a brand new Bonus stage in which players will control a pinball machine in order to collect shields, rings, Chaos Emeralds, and more.
This is particularly interesting, as well as fitting, since
Sonic games have been featuring pinball machines and casino-themed levels since
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, so this new Bonus stage is definitely a nice touch—which also adds variety to these kinds of stages.
