During the EA Play presentation that Electronic Arts livestreamed yesterday, developer Zoink Games took the opportunity to reveal a brand-new intellectual property in the form of Lost in Random, which is expected to launch for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC(Steam, Origin) in 2021.
While the developers have only announced this game for current-gen consoles, it is very likely that Lost in Random will also be making its way into the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, but we will have to wait for an official announcement on that.
According to an official Press Release issued by Electronic Arts, Lost in Random is a game set twisted dystopia in which the future of its citizens is decided by the roll of a dice; described by the developers as a gothic fairytale that plays like an action-adventure title.
Lost in Random will see players taking the role of a girl called Even and her live dice companion called Dicey — who embark on an adventure that will teach them how to embrace the unknown; all in hopes to break the curse of Random.
What's probably the most noticeable aspect of the game is its beautiful art style that seems to be heavily inspired by some of Tim Burton's most critically acclaimed animated films — which also perfectly fits the premise of Lost in Random.
As mentioned earlier, Lost in Random is developed by Zoink Games, who are known for other critically acclaimed titles like Fe and Flipping Death — with the latter, very in particular, being quite similar in style to their brand-new.
With the announcement, Zoink Games and Electronic Arts also released some screenshots, as well as a trailer that will give players a better idea of what to expect from Lost in Random.
