After having been "leaked" by Nintendo themselves in one of the latest TV spots for
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the company has finally, and officially revealed Stage Builder Mode for the game, as well as other modes and new features added in the free Ver 3.0 update.
First things first, Stage Builder mode works pretty much the same as it did in previous games, with the exception that — in the same fashion as Super Mario Maker — players now get to test their custom stages on the fly with the press of a button.
These Custom stages can now be fully customized, unlike in the other games, by adding front and back layers that allow players to make unique stages, not to mention that they will also be able to add moving platforms to their stages.
Video Editor mode has also been added to
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which gives players a bunch of tools to make their own movies by splicing together different videos they may have saved; adding music and even subtitles to make their videos even more unique.
These videos can now be shared online, although a Nintendo Switch Online subscription is required to access the the game's Shared Content; a new feature that somewhat resembles the now-gone Miiverse.
The Nintendo Switch Online is also getting Smash World, which is a new feature that allows players to see recommended videos that
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players may have uploaded. Much like Shared Content, however, a Nintendo Switch Online subscription is also required to access Smash World.
Last but not least, the free
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Ver. 3.0 update will become available tomorrow, on the
17th of April, alongside the release of
Persona 5's Joker.
