Nintendo Switch owners were ecstatic when Capcom announced that not one but two Monster Hunter titles are currently in development for Nintendo's popular handheld hybrid system, especially because no new titles in the series have been released for this particular console.
These new titles are Monster Hunter: Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, and while none of them are expected to launch this year, fans are extremely excited to see Capcom finally paying attention to the Nintendo Switch by giving players two exclusive titles to sink their teeth into.
One could argue that Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate counts, but that is essentially the same title that launched for the Nintendo 3DS back in 2015, and it is very likely that those who own the original game also own a Nintendo Switch now; again, not really a new game.
The somewhat recently announced Monster Hunter: Rise, however, is a game that has been made for the Nintendo Switch, and this game could be even compared to the best-selling Monster Hunter World when it comes to scope, as it will also give players an open world to explore at their leisure.
Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter: Rise will put an emphasis on exloration, which is why they have introduced a new item called Wirebug; a hunting tool that will allow players to traverse the game's world in style.
The new gameplay video that Capcom has released for Monster Hunter: Rise gives us a look at the Wirebug in action, while also introducing players to the all-new Wirebug Great Sword, and new animal companions in the form of Palamutes.
