City of Brass is the fifth game made by Uppercut Games, an independent studio founded in 2011 by Ed Orman, Andrew James, and Ryan Lancaster, the trio that worked on the first
BioShock and its acclaimed sequel at 2K Australia. Their latest title is a single-player, first-person dungeon crawler, set in a procedurally generated,
Arabian Nights-inspired city of endless interconnecting corridors and rooms.
The City of Brass is also a chapter of
One Thousand and One Nights. In Middle Eastern folklore, it tells the story of an archaeological expedition to an ancient and forgotten city. The narration focuses on a group of the brave few that set out on a journey to find the vessel that can be used to capture genies, but the only thing they actually find there are petrified corpses, mystical beings, and armed soldiers.
Uppercut Games have announced that
City of Brass will get a Nintendo Switch port, and you won't even have to wait for too long to put your hands on it, as the title will be released on the console on February 8, 2019. In the meantime, be sure to take a closer look at
