When Nintendo officially announced their online service, players were left disappointed because the Virtual Console was nowhere to be seen; in its stead, Nintendo added a Nintendo Entertainment System(NES) application that included some classic games, but it wasn't what players really wanted; not entirely, at least.
Nintendo Switch Online debuted in September of 2018, and in September of 2019 Nintendo finally added what players had been clamouring for since day one: a Super Nintendo app that included a decent number of classic SNES titles for players to sink their teeth into.
Donkey Kong Country, often considered to be one of the greatest games on the pltaform, was missing from the list of titles when Nintendo added the SNES app, and players have been scratching their heads wondering why Nintendo would choose not to release such an iconic title.
Today Nintendo has finally announced that Donkey Kong Country — alongside Natsume Championship Wrestling(SNES) and The Immortal(NES), will be joining the Super Nintendo Entertainment System line-up of titles next week on Wednesday the 15th of July.
In order to celebrate this special occasion, Nintendo has shared a trailer that shows off Donkey Kong Country, Natsume Championship Wrestling, and The Immortal, while also taking the opportunity to share some handy tips for Donkey Kong Country — which will definitely help players beat the game in no time once it finally becomes available next week.
