Last night, Nintendo released the promised update for Super Mario 3D All-Stars, revealing that the clamoured inverted camera controls have already been added to the Super Mario Bros. collection, and that they even went the extra mile to add Nintendo GameCube controller support.
While the aforementioned additions are more than welcome, Nintendo also took criticism to heart and fixed quite a bunch of glaring issues that stained the experience, particularly issues that affected Super Mario Sunshine.
Interestingly enough, the inverted camera controls that fans had been asking for mostly affect the experience in Super Mario Sunshine. This is mainly due to the game's water-spraying controls, which Nintendo for some reason decided to invert when working on the collection.
In Super Mario Sunshine players also found some debug blocks in one of the game's secret levels on Bianco Hills, which marked the paths of the level's flipping platforms, and that weren't present in the original version of the game. Since this one wasn't a game-breaking glitch, it was quite easy to miss, but it is still nice to see that Nintendo patched it up in the collection.
There was another glitch that for some reason reset Super Mario Sunshine's new aspect ratio when using FLUDD's Turbo Nozzle, while also fixing some sound issues at the start of a couple of racing events, as well as an issue that caused the game to slow down a bit when accessing the map.
