A listing on Amazon UK has seemingly revealed that an HD remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword may be coming to the Nintendo Switch rather sooner than later, although this has not been officially confirmed, nor hinted at, by the developers at Nintendo.
VIdeo Games Chronicle were the first to report on this news, but unfortunately the listing has since been removed from Amazon UK. This could mean that the information was accidentally posted before Nintendo officially announced it, and the fact that it is now gone could prove that this is the case.
Nintendo has already released HD remasters of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on the Nintendo Wii U, so it wouldn't be too far-fetched to believe that they would want to do something similar with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword was originally released for the Nintendo Wii in November of 2011, and it is considered to be one of the most divisive titles in the series due to unintuitive motion controls and linear gameplay; constructive criticism that Nintendo took to heart when developing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
From a story standpoint, however, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is actually widely regarded as one of, if not, the best in the series, especially because it is one game that made the characters, especially Zelda, feel like real people with real motivations instead of simple MacGuffins.
The Nintendo Switch has vastly improved on the motion control technology since the The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword was released for the Wii, which could make this alleged remaster a perfect candidate for the popular handheld hybrid console.
If this remastered version of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword happens to be rela, this could also mean that Nintendo may want to give players something to sink their teeth into while they keep waiting for the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to be released.
Nintendo has already done something similar when they released The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD a year before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild hit store shelves. It's a win-win situation for the fans, but it would mean that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is still a year, or more, away from becoming available.
