The Nintendo Switch keeps proving to be a hit all over the world, and this is particularly true when it comes to sales numbers in Japan; where Nintendo's handheld hybrid console has consistently sold the best.
A new report reveals that the Nintendo Switch has managed to be the best-selling console in Japan for 12 months in a row. The news comes from Famitsu, who reported that, as of February of this year, the Switch has been able to outsellf the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
According to Famitsu's report, Nintendo sold an impressive 240,942 Switch units in February alone, with the PlayStation 4(including the PS4 Pro) selling a very respectable 87,756 units — for reference — during the month of February.
In a recent study by the NPD Group, the
Nintendo Switch was revealed to be the best-selling console of this generation in the United States; further proving that the console isn't just selling well in Japan, but its success has also been seen in the Americas.
Granted, the Nintendo Switch has just recently had its second anniversay, while the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are nearing the end of their life cycle — with rumors suggesting that both Sony and Microsoft may end up revealing their next console at some point this year — but the Switch having sold this well for an entire year is still quite the achievement for Nintendo.
