RUMOUR: THE LEGEND OF ZELDA Producer Has Seemingly Teased SKYWARD SWORD For The Nintendo Switch

Although not as unexpected as some people may think, The Legend of Zelda long-time producer, Eiji Aonuma, has recently teased The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Nintendo Switch.

Eiji Aonuma, long-time producer for The Legend of Zelda, has recently teased the possibility of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword coming to the Nintendo Switch. The news comes from numerous Japanese and Chinese social media accounts from people who attended an official The Legend of Zelda concert in Osaka, Japan.

Resetera user Jim_Cacher, who is a Japanese native speaker, translated one of the Japanese tweets, which read as follows: "Aonuma said 'We know what you are thinking, Skyward Sword on Switch, right?' Then the audience were clapping like crazy. I nearly flew out".

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is a game that would work perfectly on the Nintendo Switch given that the original version of the game, released in 2012 for the Nintendo Wii, relied 100% on motion controls, and the Switch's Joy-Con controllers both are enhanced versions of the motion controls on the Wii.

Nintendo did a similar thing when The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was announced in 2014, by releasing—in the meantime—The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD in March of 2016. Maybe Nintendo is planning on doing the same with Skyward Sword, which will definitely keep fans of the series busy until the next installment in the series is properly announced.

This should be taken with a grain of salt, however, since this is in no way confirmation that neither Aonuma or Nintendo have actually hinted at this actually happening. All we have, for now, are the testimonies of the attendees at that official The Legend of Zelda concert in Osaka. Let's just keep our fingers crossed for Nintendo to make an official announcement.
