During a Nintendo Direct presentation that took place In September of last year, MonolithSoft and Nintendo surprised fans of the Xenoblade series by announcing that a remastered version of Xenoblade Chronicles was being developed for the Nintendo Switch.

MonolithSoft revealed that Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition for the Nintendo Switch was getting a graphics makeover that even saw the characters being slightly redeseigned, its music remastered, and its resolution increased.
On top of the technical enhancements, MonolithSoft also revealed that they were adding an all-new episode to Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition in the form of an epilogue called "Future Connected", and taking place right after the events of the original game.
After what seemed an eternity since the game was initially announced, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has finally hit store shelves today, and Nintendo has shared one final story trailer that reveals some vague information about the game's story, and the brand-new epilogue episode.
