Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has already been out for almost an entire week now, and fans of the Xenoblade series have finally been able to revisit this timeless classic; now in glorious high definition and with an all-new prologue episode added to the campaign.
Besides being a slightly more visually appealing game than the original, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has also remastered the game's official soundtrack, and has also even received a brand-new soundtrack for the "Future Connected" epilogue episode; needles sto say, a true definitive edition of the Wii's Xenoblade Chronicles.
While the game has barely been out for less than 7 days, new information has revealed that Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has now become the second highest debut in the Xenoblade series in Japan.
This information comes from independent video game analyst @BenjiSales, who also mentions that Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has sold over 90 thousand units, and that it is trailing behind 2017's Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has also been revealed to have sold than its original Wii counterpart, as well as the Nintendo 3DS port of the game, and even the Wii U's Xenoblade Chronicles X — although the last one isn't that much of a surprise, considering how poorly the system itself sold.
MONOLITHSOFT’s epic Xenoblade Chronicles game, which originally launched in 2012 on the Wii system, is destined to be reborn on Nintendo Switch as Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. The game, which chronicles the adventures of Shulk and Fiora, is scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch in 2020.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is currently available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
