Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition became available, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, just a couple of days ago; bringing with it everything that players could found in the original game, as well as a brand-new campaign in the form of an epilogue episode.
The original Xenoblade Chronicles was released for the Nintendo Wii in 2010, and was later re-released — or ported, rather — for the Nintendo 3DS, but most players agree that, while a decent port, the portable version was not the best way to play the critically acclaimed title.
For the longest time, most players had no way to play the game, since it is hard to come by for both the Wii and the 3DS these days, which is one of the many reasons Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition came at the right timealmost like a godsend, and players have already shown their support for it.
In a short two days since its release, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has already managed to top the sales charts in the United Kingdom, according to a new report by GamesIndustry.biz.
As a matter of fact, the report also reveals that the game managed to sell double than Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii, although it falls a tad short when it comes to sales of Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
What's even more impressive is that only physical copies of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition were considered for this study. Due to the COVID-19, it is likely that the game has sold even more digital than physical copies, so it will definitely interesting to see exactly how many the game has managed to sell in total.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition was even able to dethrone Animal Crossing: New Horizons, rightfully taking the number 1 spot from it. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Grand Theft Auto 5, and FIFA 20 managed to hold on to their spots, in the third, fourth, and fifth positions respectively.
MONOLITHSOFT’s epic Xenoblade Chronicles game, which originally launched in 2012 on the Wii system, is destined to be reborn on Nintendo Switch as Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. The game, which chronicles the adventures of Shulk and Fiora, is scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch in 2020.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is currently available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
