Since the beginning of the year, Raf Grassetti — Art Director for Santa Monica Studios — has been sharing redesigned versions of characters in the
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster, which include redesigns for Metwo, Sonic, Mega Man, and Link — to name but a few.
Grassetti has been doing this just for fun, as he is in no way affiliated with Nintendo or Game Freak — that we know of, although it is unlikely — and has been giving these characters a more realistic look; making us wonder how a less cartoony version of
Super Smash Bros. would look like.
Today, Grassetti has shared a new tweet showing all three of the
Donkey Kong Country characters part of the
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster — Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and the recently added King K. Rool — in a new poster he made; asking himself a very legitimate question: "
When are we going to see a DK movie?".
No one knows if Grassetti will be redesigning all 70+ characters in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster but we're looking forward to seeing more of his fantastic designs.
