AEW professional wrestler and executive vice president Kenny Omega has officially confirmed his attendance at the upcoming Magic: The Gathering x Final Fantasy debut showcase at PAX East 2025. Scheduled for May 10 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET, the event will take place in the main theatre at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center and is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated panels of the convention.

Omega shared his excitement via social media, stating, “You know I had to be there since it's Final Fantasy. Can't wait to see you all there.” Known for his passion for gaming, particularly Final Fantasy, Omega has long been celebrated for his crossover appeal to both wrestling and gaming communities. Fans may recall his surprise meeting with legendary composer Nobuo Uematsu at Tokyo Game Show 2024, where the composer humorously placed Omega in a cobra twist submission hold, adding a memorable moment to the event.

Joining Omega at the panel will be fellow AEW wrestler and current TNT Champion Adam Cole, who also expressed his enthusiasm for Final Fantasy and gaming through a social media announcement. Their involvement promises to draw additional attention to the showcase and amplify fan engagement.

Also featured at the panel will be Final Fantasy XVI voice actor Ben Starr—who voices protagonist Clive Rosfield—and Magic: The Gathering designer Gavin Verhey. Together, they will help present the upcoming crossover set that merges the universes of Square Enix’s iconic RPG series with the strategic gameplay of Magic: The Gathering.

This collaborative set includes characters, spells, items, and locations from all sixteen mainline Final Fantasy games. Wizards of the Coast described the crossover as follows:

“The beloved FINAL FANTASY RPG series' sixteen mainline games of unforgettable characters, items, and moments are now here in Magic: The Gathering! Cast powerful spells, call upon classic summons, and even visit your favorite locations on the back of a chocobo.”

While PAX East has yet to confirm a livestream, attendees will get the first exclusive look at this highly anticipated crossover. The Magic: The Gathering x Final Fantasy card set will be released worldwide on June 13, 2025.

As Magic: The Gathering continues to embrace high-profile collaborations and Final Fantasy approaches new milestones, this crossover stands as one of the most exciting and celebrated gaming partnerships of the year.
