The teams at Activision and Infinity Ward will officially showcase the next entry in the long-running Call of Duty franchise at this year's E3 Coliseum, the Entertainment Software Association has announced.

If you're not familiar with the format, E3 Coliseum is nothing else that a three-day-long series of panels, conversations, and special events produced and hosted by Geoff Keighley, the man behind the success of The Game Awards. CoD "2019" it the first game confirmed to be shown at E3 2019.

Rumor has it that Infinity Ward's new take on Call of Duty will be drastically different from what we've seen in recent years, bringing the series back to its modern roots – with a single-player campaign and boots-on-the-ground gameplay. Given that Sony is skipping E3 2019, there's a chance that the game will also be showcased at the Microsoft media briefing that will be held on Sunday, June 9th at 1PM PT.

According to Activision, this year’s Call of Duty will be officially announced before the end of June.
