Last month, we learned (via LinkedIn) that Tomohiro Tokoro, a Luminous Production’s 3D Character Model Lead Artist who previously worked on Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and Final Fantasy XV, is currently working on a new, big-budget, and yet unannounced title for PlayStation 5. We also know that Microsoft is sparing no expense to manufacture the successor of Xbox One X condemned "Scarlett."

According to Gematsu, Square Enix is not the only Japanese game studio that is already developing "notable" titles that will be available for the next-gen consoles that are expected to launch sometime in 2020. One of them is a “major game company” based in Koto, Tokyo, that is hiring a “localizer / translator / planner” for development on a “new console game” for “next-generation hardware.”

The other game studio is a “game developer with strong console game development” based in Shibuya, Tokyo, hiring a planner to work on a “next-generation hardware title.” This artist will work mostly on boss battles and parameter settings. Considering that at least three game development studios are working on next-gen titles in Japan, PS5 and "Scarlett" may release sooner than we think.
