Fans of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series were excited to find out that a rumour, back in November of last year, was suggesting that Activision was working on remade versions of some of the first titles in the popular skateboarding video game series.
Of course, none of this was neither confirmed nor denied by Activision, but the information actually came, allegedly, from one of the developer's employees — who specifically mentioned that Activision was remaking the first two entries in the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series.
Professional skater Lizzie Armanto also added fuel to the rumour, by accidentally revealing that Activision were working on a new Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game and that she was going to be in it. At this point, everything seems to suggest that Activision is indeed planning on bringing the series back with a bang.
Just last week, Australian band The Death Set seemingly confirmed that a new Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game was being in development; revealing that they had licensed music for a "Tony Hawk 2020 game," and that we will be hearing about it soon.
The latest bit of information comes from The Gaming Revolution — a refutable source that has accurately leaked information about Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare — that claims that a remaster of the very first Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is currently in the works.
At this point, and with all of the rumours actually pointing to Activision bringing the series back, there's almost no doubt that the developer will be bringing the skateboarding series sooner than later. We will have to keep waiting for an official announcement, but every rumour has revealed that at least one Tony Hawk game will release this year, so we'll just have to patiently wait for that almost inevitable announcemnet.
