For the longest time, Nintendo fans have been wondering exactly what is it that Mario says when grabbing Bowser by the tail and throwing him off the platform in the Bowser boss battles from the iconic Super Mario 64.

The debate over what Mario actually said had some fans claiming that the phrase said "Son long-eh, Bowser!", while others believed that Mario said "So long, King Bowser!", and others claiming it said something more obscene that questioned Bowser's...sexuality.

As it turns out, Charles Martinet — the man who's been voicing Mario for over 20 years, and is also Mario's voice in Super Mario 64 — has finally revealed exactly what he said when delivering that line; putting an end to this somewhat ridiculous debate.

"So long kinga Bowser!" is what Martinet replied to Twitter user @4zy1twitr when asked about the infamous line. So, there it is; the answer to a question that's been on players' minds since Super Mario 64 was released in 1996, finally answered by Martinent himself.
