Before we even begin, I encourage you to take this news with a pinch of salt — as there seems to be a rumor doing the rounds that suggests that a new game in the
Viewtiful Joe series could be currently in the works.
The information actually comes, kind of, from Hideki Kamiya himself — the man who directed the first
Viewtiful Joe, and worked on the story of
Viewtiful Joe 2 and
Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble — who has been retweeting a bunch of
Viewtiful Joe 3-related tweets from other users.
What's even more interesting is that some of these user tweets claim that a new game has been leaked, and that Capcom could end up officially revealing
Viewtiful Joe 3 during this year's E3. In contrast, other users ask for this rumor's sources, and here's the catch; there doesn't seem to be a source, other than Kamiya retweeting a bunch of tweets about this alleged
Viewtiful Joe 3 leak.
Now, Kamiya is a fan himself — meaning that if there's any chance of the series making a comeback, he's obviously going to support it — and him retweeting all of these tweets by fans of the
Viewtiful Joe series doesn't mean there's a sequel in the works.
Regardless if the rumor is true or not, this would be great news for longtime fans of the
Viewtiful Joe series, as well as the perfect time for the series to make a comeback; a series that has been missing in action for far too long. Again, please take this information with a pinch of salt.
