Developer Nacon continues to tease fans with artwork for their upcoming game Terminator: Survivors. A new piece of artwork was posted to social media this week, showing off a "new apex predator."

This apex predator, of course, is none other than the T-800, a "relentless and formidable hunter that cannot be stopped." The artwork shows the aftermath of the T-800's latest hunt. We see a scorched mountain ranch, a burning truck, and the ominous T-800 approaching its latest victim.

The latest artwork comes after Nacom revealed that there will only be a single T-800 featured in the game. The developer explained that part of the decision to include just a single terminator in the game was to be consistent with the lore of the timeline; Terminator: Survivors is set in 2009, just shortly after Judgment Day "when Skynet's production capabilities hadn't yet reached their peak."

Having a lone, unstoppable machine hunting you, the player, also creates a "sense of dread and urgency," further capturing the "essence of the first two films."

The developed explained earlier this month:

"By featuring a lone T-800 as the relentless antagonist, players are immersed in an atmosphere of constant peril and tension. Much like the protagonists in the movies, players will experience the harrowing sensation of being hunted by an adversary that knows no mercy and cannot be reasoned with."

Terminator: Survivors is a first-person survival shooter where you, alone or in co-op, scavenge resources to build a base of operations for mankind. The game is set just a few years after Skynet attained self-awareness and initiated a global nuclear assault. With billions exterminated, humanity is left to exist in smaller communities. The game features an original main story with secondary quests that expand upon the world's history.

The first trailer for Terminator: Survivors was released a few months ago. Since then, Nacon has released multiple artworks. But we've yet to see official gameplay.

Nacon was asked by a fan if we will see gameplay soon, to which they responded: "You'll have to be a bit more patient."

It's unclear how long we'll have to wait, but it's worth mentioning that Summer Game Fest is just a few weeks away. Could the game make an appearance at the annual game showcase?

Terminator: Survivors is set to release in early access for PC (Steam) on October 24, 2024. It is slated to come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at a later date.
