The first
Borderlands installment released ten years ago, a sequel relesed in 2012 and the third installment is set to arrive on September 13th, 2019.
Since its emergence, the series has garnered quite a huge fanbase. With the release of each
Borderlands game, the fanbase has only grown larger. The same will likely be the case with
Borderlands 3 and thus Gearbox Software had to make sure that they were taking newcomers to the franchise into account when developing the upcoming game.
Anthony Nicholson, the senior producer of the upcoming third
Borderlands game, recently participated in an interview with
GamingBolt in which he discussed how accessible the game will be. According to Nicholson,
Borderlands 3 will be equally accessible to both returning players and newcomers alike.
Below you can read the senior producer's full statement on the matter:
We have several different options and several different modes that the guys on the game field team— we actually have our own department within the department that works on accessibility, because it’s really important to us. But as far as newcomers coming into the series, it’s a first person shooter. If you’ve ever played a first person shooter game then you’ll feel right at home.
The recruitment walk-through that we did with Claptrap in the beginning of the game, we want to make sure that is stepping people through and showing them how to play the game. We want to make sure that even if you’ve been here since 2009 or you’re playing for the first time in 2019, that you can pick the game up and understand that we’re giving it everything that you need to be successful and really enjoy the experience.
Borderlands 3 is set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 13th, 2019.
