Gearbox Software's BORDERLANDS 3 Will Feature A 30-Hour Campaign, But There's A Catch

At its core, the upcoming Borderlands 3 is a modern looter shooter, but there's no denying that the development crew at Gearbox Software knows well how to combine the Diablo-esque grind with a more traditional form of storytelling – a trick that many still can't replicated (just look at Anthem).

"If you beeline it through, and I mean beelining it through, it might take you 30 hours to complete the main story," Borderlands 3 Creative Director Paul Sage said in a recent interview with PC Gamer.

According to How Long to Beat, the 30-hour mark is in line with Borderlands 2, which is sitting at an average of 30.5 hours. Naturally, those who have the desire to explore Borderlands 3's world in its fullest and try to get at least some of its "endless guns" will definitely spend more time on Pandora.

Given that E3 2019 starts next month, we should learn new details on Borderlands 3 in the near future.

The original shooter-looter returns, packing bazillions of guns and a mayhem-fueled adventure! Blast through new worlds and enemies as one of four new Vault Hunters. Play solo or with friends to take on insane enemies, score loads of loot and save your home from the most ruthless cult leaders in the galaxy. Stop the fanatical Calypso Twins from uniting the bandit clans and claiming the galaxy’s ultimate power.

Borderlands 3 arrives on Xbox One, PS4, and PC (via the Epic Games Store) on September 13, 2019.
