Details regarding Gearbox Software's upcoming PAX East 2019 panel were recently made public on the convention's website. The description of the dev's panel has led many of their fans to believe that it will feature the official announcement of the long-rumoured third instalment in the Borderlands video-game series.

The panel's description goes as such: "This is your opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at Gearbox Software and Gearbox Publishing, along with the latest news and updates from the makers of Borderlands, Battleborn, Brothers in Arms, and more! We will have never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises, so don’t miss out."

Fans of the mental first-person-shooter have particularly latched onto the "
never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises" segment, believing it to be a tease pertaining to Borderlands 3. This is on account of countless leaks and analyst predictions, the latter stating that a third instalment will be with us by March of 2020 - that would certainly line up with its announcement taking place exactly a year beforehand.

Don't get too eager just yet, however, as this is by no means confirmation that the panel will announce the long-awaited sequel, but simply speculation. The panel will take place on March 28th and run from 2:00 PM 3:00 PM EST.
