Desolate, a new Survival-Horror title from a newcomer Russian development team, Nearga, has just been released to Steam. Players can group up with up to 4 other players as they search and explore the mysterious island of Granichny, as they unlock new skills and abilities along the way.

Like most Survival games, there are certain conditions players will need to maintain in order to stay alive, and in Desolate, they have 5 Categories:  Health, Hunger, Cold, Thirst and Stress.  Players will need to find recipes and supplies along the way in order to battle the elements of this unforgiving island.

While Desolate does feature firearms and ammunition — because of their rarity — gameplay is more revolved around melee combat and upgrading weapons, as well as equipment that help with the game's particular playstyle.

Here is the Official 1.0 Launch Trailer for Steam:

DESOLATE is a first person horror survival experience. Form a research team with up to 4 players and explore an open world filled with mysteries and unsolved questions, or do it all on your own.

Desolate is available now via Steam for Windows PC, retailing at $19.99 USD $16.99 USD (-15% until January 24th).
