Episode 2 of Riot Games' 5v5 character-based tactical shooter VALORANT is set to arrive on January 12. With it will come a new playable character and battle pass filled with cosmetics.
A newly released cinematic introduces us to Yoru, yet another duelist who has drawn comparisons to Wraith from Apex Legends. Yoru is a lone wolf-type character with an emphasis on "stealthy infiltration." He can quickly sneak around the map undetected and create duplicates of himself to fake out enemies.
His "E" ability, Gatecrash, sends out a "rift tether" to a distant location that he can then teleport to, while his "Q" ability, Blindside, is a flash grenade that can blind the enemies a few seconds after its thrown. His "C" ability, Fakeout, sends out a duplicate version of himself, complete with audible footsteps. But perhaps his most dangerous ability is Dimensional Drift (X), which allows him to slip between worlds and move around the map undetected -- similar to Wraith's "Into the Void" ability.
Yoru will arrive with Episode 2 on January 12. The episode also comes with a new battle pass that costs 1,000 Valorant Points and unlocks 12 gun skins, one melee skin, numerous gun buddies, cards, sprays, and titles. Players will have seven weeks to unlock everything before the battle pass expires on March 1.
