Anyone who follows
League of Legends is probably already familiar with the incredible cinematics that developer Riot Games puts out for the MOBA. And for years, players have clamored for some sort of animated series. Well, on the game's 10th Anniversary, Riot officially announced one.
Titled "Arcane," the original animated series seems to focus on characters from the utopian city of Piltover and its oppressed underground of Zaun. Plot details are pretty vague at the moment, but Riot teases the series is about "the origins of two iconic League champions — and the power that will tear them apart."
While no specific names were mentioned, some of the
champions from Piltover are Caitlyn, Camille, Ezreal, Heimerdinger, Jayce, Orianna, and Vi. The ones from Zaun are Blitzcrank, Dr. Mundo, Ekko, Janna, Jinx, Singed, Twitch, Urgot, Viktor, Warwick, Zac, Ziggs.
Jinx was featured pretty prominently in the teaser, which would make Vi a possible candidate as the other star of the series.
Arcane is being developed and produced internally by Riot Games and is expected to release in 2020.
