Riot Games is kicking off the highly anticipated 2025 Spirit Blossom Festival in League Of Legends with a flourish, releasing a new original song titled “Here, Tomorrow” by singer-songwriter Rira Ikuta and celebrated composer Kevin Penkin. The track debuted alongside a beautifully animated music video produced in partnership with animation studio THE LINE, and sets the emotional tone for the latest seasonal event, Spirit Blossom: The Border of the Dead.
The cinematic, tied to this release, marks the start of Spirit Blossom Season 2 and teases the return of the fan-favorite Ionian who was freed by Jarvan and joined Demacia, the champion Xin Zhao, who will play a central role in the event’s storyline. Players can immerse themselves in the Spirit Blossom universe starting April 30 at 11 AM PDT, with the first of two motion comics launching May 14th to further explore Xin Zhao’s journey.
This year’s Spirit Blossom event brings a host of new content, including a full roster of event-exclusive skins, a premium battle pass, and narrative-driven cosmetics and lore experiences.
Legendary Skins Leading the Charge
Two champions are receiving Legendary-tier Spirit Blossom skins this season:
These skins feature custom voice lines, unique spell animations, VFX transformations, and rich lore tie-ins. While Irelia’s inclusion fits seamlessly with her Ionian roots, Ashe’s inclusion has raised some eyebrows given her ties to the Freljord. Fans are eager to learn how she connects to this realm-spanning tale.
New Battle Pass and Skins
The Act 1 Battle Pass introduces a lineup of exciting cosmetics, including:
Lux continues to solidify her status as one of Riot’s premier and favorited champions, now boasting two Prestige-tier skins.
Additionally, a set of Epic-tier Spirit Blossom skins will be available for:
These maintain the event’s signature ethereal aesthetic with soft pastels, flowing spiritual effects, and hauntingly elegant designs.
What’s Coming Next
Later in the season, likely in Act 2, Riot plans to release:
-
Exalted Spirit Blossom Morgana (Gacha-exclusive)
-
Spirit Blossom Nidalee
-
Prestige Spirit Blossom Zed
-
A mysterious new champion (rumored to start with “Y”)
The new champion is expected to tie directly into Ionia’s spiritual or darker underworld, and may serve as a keystone for the event’s overarching narrative. Maybe even tying in with all the Leblanc and Darkin hype we have seen and heard lately.
League of Legends’ Spirit Blossom 2025 event is shaping up to be one of the game’s most ambitious and immersive events yet. With striking visuals, heartfelt music, and a deepening lore experience, Riot seems set to enchant its community once again.
