Riot Games' digital card game Legends of Runeterra will officially launch on PC and mobile on April 30, the company announced. Legends of Runettera is set in the same universe as League of Legends, with many of its cards inspired by the champions and mechanics from the multiplayer online battle arena.

Riot confirmed that there will be no content wipe, so everything you've earned and purchased in the ongoing open beta so far will carry over into the full game when it launches. Additionally, anyone who participated in the Beta Season will earn an exclusive reward based on the highest tier you reached. Ranks will then be partially reset for the first post-launch season. Here's a breakdown of how the rest will work:

  • Master accounts will drop 800LP (8 divisions)
  • Diamond and Platinum accounts will drop 750LP (7 divisions + 50LP)
  • Gold and Silver accounts will drop 675LP (6 divisions + 75LP)
  • Bronze and Iron accounts will reset to Iron IV

The next season will run for two months. Riot promises more information about the new season in the patch notes when Legends of Runeterra launches. Beta players and anyone who joins the game by May 7, 11:59 p.m. PT will also get an exclusive Moonstruck Poro Guardian.

In the League of Legends strategy card game, victory comes down to one question: what’s your move?

Legends of Runeterra will remain free-to-play and will feature cross-platform play and accounts, so reward progression can be earned regardless of whether you play on PC or mobile. Patch 1.0 for PC will go live on April 28 at 10:00 a.m. PT and will introduce the next set of 120-plus cards and balance changes. The mobile client will then start to be distributed on the Play Store and App Store for Android and iOS devices and should be live in all regions by April 30 (except China or Vietnam).

New card reveals, including champions and a new region, will be revealed over the coming weeks. The official launch of Legends of Runeterra out of beta means Riot is ready to ramp up content and add more features. A more detailed roadmap for the rest of 2020 will be shared after launch.
