Valva has filed a trademark for
DOTA Underlords, suggesting that the world-famous developer is getting ready to announce their next (hopefully big) thing set in the beloved
Defense of the Ancients universe.
According to Justia Trademarks,
DOTA Underlords will be a video game, but it's not clear if we're talking about another MOBA (which would definitely be surprising as 2013's
DOTA 2 is still one of the most-played games on Steam), a card game (following the fall of
Artifact that wouldn't be that shocking), or a special VR title that may even be a Valve Index exclusive – as Valve's VR device releases this summer.
Given that this year's The International 2019 will be held this summer, there's a chance that
DOTA Underlords will be announced during the world's biggest
DOTA 2 tournament that will be taking place on August 20th through the 25th. For the first time ever, the eSports event will be hosted in Shanghai.
At the time of writing, Valve had not revealed any official details on
