Frosthaven has a 1.0 date. Arc Games and Snapshot Games posted a gameplay trailer and announced the October 15 release date on Steam and the Epic Games Store. The digital game is Isaac Childres' tabletop campaign moved to a turn-based tactical RPG. It is spiritual successor to Gloomhaven. Frozen North, Biting Sea, an artifact sending visions. One to a party, solo or online co-op. You pick from 17 heroes. The last class joins at launch.

1.0 is the full tabletop story, including the last chapter. Road to Frosthaven is a digital-only intro, tutorial, and UI pass so the card economy does not dump new players on scenario one. You can try the campaign start without buying the whole winter. Check out the new trailer below:

House Rules stay available for fans to switch things up for their games. Custom sliders for how mean you want the scenario. Enhanced co-op and networking are on the list after Early Access nights that already taught Snapshot where the session broke. An opening cinematic and per-hero unlock videos are the extra cutscenes the board game never had. A Codex holds lore, creatures, and biomes so you are not running a second notebook.

Difficulty modes exist for people who never sleeved a Gloomhaven modifier deck. Veterans get the same resource squeeze and class synergy puzzle. Every turn is still a hand of cards. Every rest still costs you a card you wanted later. The digital layer is tracking, networking, and not flipping 200 stickers by hand.

Snapshot's pitch for the digital version is that the board game's campaign is intact and the software is finally the thing that allows you to play with friends from all over. Price change at 1.0 was not mentioned in this trailer post. Check the store page for the official price.

Gloomhaven already proved this loop can live on PC. Frosthaven is the colder map and the new 17-class grid. If your group bounced off EA because the last hero or the last chapter was missing, that is the date. If you never punched a Gloomhaven box, the demo is the honest door.

PlayStation and Xbox were not in the 1.0 reveal. Steam and Epic are the October 15 platforms that you can purchase it from. Wishlist the demo if you want the tutorial without the campaign price.

Are you trying out the Road to Frosthaven demo this week, or waiting for the 17th hero on October 15? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
