PC gamers have been asking Steam to introduce a feature that could let them play couch co-op games with friends online for a long while now. Finally, Steam Remote Play Together has been released. Here is more.
The PC gaming giant has released a new feature that lets players join their friends online in their favorite couch co-op game. From this day on, that game you love to play with your friends in their house will now be playable online. There is no need to visit them at their place, you can just link up online and enjoy the previously-local-only game.
This new feature is called Steam Remote Play Together and it is quite simple to launch. The feature is still in its Beta version, so do not be surprised when something goes a little off the rails. All you have to do in order to play with your friends online is join this beta and launch a multiplayer game.
After you launch the game, you can go over to your friend and choose the "Remote Play Together" option. The computer will now detect their controller like if it was connected directly in your system. This feature is available in PC, Mac and Linux.
Steam has stated that the Beta version will see increments and updates in its network stability and compatibility in all the hardware that is running this feature. Let us know if you were one of the many gamers that was asking for this.
