With
Subnautica’s full version now available on all major platforms, Unknown Worlds can finally focus on supporting its hit survival title with brand new content and major upgrades. In the game’s first stand-alone DLC
Below Zero, which was announced back in August, the ambitious development studio will allow you to explore a polar region of the game world that includes massive glaciers and icebergs.
Unknown Worlds has announced that
Below Zero will be released on PC via Steam, Epic, and Discord Stores on January 30th – this Wednesday. While the prospect of exploring an original map may sound like a great opportunity, the studio warns you that
Below Zero "
is not finished. It is full of bugs. It lacks polish, runs poorly, and is missing features. We are offering Early Access not because we want your money, but because we want your feedback. We make better games when we make them with you."
When it comes to the console version of
Below Zero, Unknown Worlds is working hard on bringing it to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as soon as possible, but the studio doesn't want to predict any official dates just yet. The developer also doesn't want to repeat their old strategy and this time is aiming to release the "1.0" version of
Subnautica: Below Zero simultaneously on XO, PS4, Mac, and Windows PC.
The development team will be holding a special
Subnautica: Below Zero livestream (featuring the game's launch trailer) on Thursday afternoon and you will have a chance to watch it
RIGHT HERE.

Subnautica's oceans range from sun drenched shallow coral reefs to treacherous deep-sea trenches, lava fields, and bio-luminescent underwater rivers. Manage your oxygen supply as you explore kelp forests, plateaus, reefs, and winding cave systems. The water teems with life: Some of it helpful, much of it harmful.
