You may ask "
what's the point of (re)making the game that launched in 1996 using the engine of the game that hit the stores in 1999?" Well, there's a chance you remember Ubisoft's
Heroes of Might & Magic III: HD Edition which was the official remaster of the classic third game. To say the fans of this turn-based strategy series didn't fall in love with is to say basically nothing. And it still costs $15.
Ubisoft has promised the return to "
those sleepless nights spent fighting Black Dragons and Archangels, Demons and Necromancers," and has deliver a skeleton instead. This shameless cash grab with no improvements to compatibility to the game's framerate with the broken graphics, including, blurry, and lacking in detail picture. But as always, the fandom is here to help and fix the thing.
Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Succession Wars was announced ten years ago and you can download this mode for free since 2013. It looks like te works on this project are coming to an end as the developers from Poland and Russia have released a new trailer.
Those fans has recreated the town screens, battlefields, and even single units using the technology from the third game. But that's just the beginning and the developers are already working on their own 45 models and three new fractions (Witches, Dervishes, and Heretics) which will join the six original fractions.
