With the recent announcement of
Total War: Arena's servers shutting down in February, Creative Assembly can focus on their next projects – a mysterious first-person shooter (but you should forget about an
Alien: Isolation sequel as Sega's contract with 20th Century Fox has expired) and
Total War: Three Kingdoms, an all-new entry in the acclaimed real-time strategy series set in medieval China.
Three Kingdoms will give you a chance to fight for the supremacy in the Middle Kingdom and meet famous historical figures like Cao Cao and Lü Bu. According to Creative Assembly,
Three Kingdoms players will step into the shoes of one of 11 legendary warlords in this age of conquest. Although the ultimate goal for each leader is the same, uniting China under your banner and forging the next great dynasty, the preferred means and methods can differ greatly between each of those fearless warriors.
Every warlord has their own unique personality, motivations, and experience, while all shape the way they play and the kind of conquest they favor. The latest trailer for
Three Kingdoms introduces players to Zheng Jiang, the Bandit Queen. Just like her enemies, Jiang loves to have power, and she also loves demonstrating it. She operates by subduing others and forcing them to pay tribute to her. Take a look:
The year is 190CE. China is in turmoil. The Han Dynasty crumbles before the child-emperor. He is but a figurehead, a mere puppet for the tyrant warlord Dong Zhuo. It is a brutal and oppressive regime, and as Dong Zhuo’s power grows, the empire slips further into the cauldron of anarchy.
Total War: Three Kingdoms is coming to PC on March 7th, 2019.
