Wattam is the newest brainchild from the creative mind of Keita Takahashi and Funomena, is still set to hit digital shelves in 2018. The game follows a green cubed mayor that roams about finding friends, and has thankfully found a publisher in Annapurna Interactive, a studio known for holding varius succesful indie titles under their belt.

If you have Wattam on your radar you'll be able to check it out at a PAX West this weekend, which has been quite a long time since it first debuted in 2014 at the Playstation Experience when Sony still had the game under their umbrella. Since it's debut in 2014, the game has essentially started from level one and been built from the ground up. Since the demo that sites such as Polygon got to play, the game has changed to focus more on robust gameplay according to Takahashi and Alvarado.

Despite the changes the game has had, at it's core it will still be about making friends, something players will do through solving puzzles. You'll be able to control everything, even the rocks, flowers, toilets, broccoli, and colorful swirls of poop (you read that correctly) that you'll be able to make friends with on your journey.

Takahashi went on to make a comment on why the game has still gone forward in it's production and now release, even after Sony dropped them like a bad habit. “...The game is not only mine. It’s a teamwork, lots of people have made Wattam ... I couldn’t just stop making it ...
