With Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout becoming one of the most popular games this year, many companies are looking to get their brand into the game and in front of the millions playing the battle royale game. While Mediatonic recently held a charity for where the company that bid the most could do so, the developer is also currently exploring the possibility of collaborations.
Speaking to App Trigger, Walsh revealed there are ongoing talks for some big tie-ins but the developer isn't quite ready to talk about them yet. He added that they are currently "picking and choosing in a quite privileged way" about the direction they want to go in. As recently revealed, the direction of season two will be medieval themed, so it will be interesting to see what kind of brand tie-ins they can have with that.
Walsh was also asked if there were any costume ideas he would personally want to see in the game, to which he answered:
“I think one thing we’ve never managed to do yet is Sony IP costumes and there’s so many amazing concepts out there. Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet and Clank, God of War, you know these really big tentpole Playstation IPs would be amazing to get into the game. So I think those really iconic Sony Characters, I’d love to see Fall Guy versions of them because Valve was amazing and basically let us do whatever we want and we’d love to see Sony reach out and make it happen on that platform.”
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout did make its debut on PlayStation 4 via PlayStation Plus, so it's possible Mediatonic already has an open line of communication with Sony. This could make any sort of costume collaboration much easier to work out between the two companies. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout recently became the most downloaded PlayStation Plus game ever so one would think Sony wants to continue supporting the game it currently has console exclusivity for. While Mediatonic has expressed interest in releasing the game on Xbox and Nintendo platforms, there are currently no plans.
