When Nintendo released their
NES and
SNES Classic consoles, Sony was quick to notice that there was still a market for classic gaming and decided to make a classic version of their original
PlayStation; putting absolutely none of the effort that Nintendo put into their classic consoles.
The lineup of games included in the
PlayStation Classic was disappointing, to say the least, and a red flag for those players who were excited for the console; one of the many reasons why some fans decided to jump ship and cancel their pre-orders, while others simply didn't buy the console at launch.
The lukewarm reception
Sony's classic console had made its retail value drop 40% not even a month after its release in December of last year. As if tht wasn't enough, the
PlayStation Classic's retail value dropped even more in February; proving that nostalgia alone wasn't enough to make people purchase the console.
Well, the
PlayStation Classic's retail value has dropped yet again, and consumers can purchase this console for a mere $19.99 USD now — which is good news, since the console may now actually be worth spending money on at that low price.
