PS PLUS Games For March Are Now Live: Get BATTLEFIELD 2042 For Free

Battlefield 2042, Minecraft Dungeons, and Code Vein can now be downloaded for free for PlayStation Plus subscribers on PS4 and PS5. All three games are available until April 7.

It's the first Tuesday of the month which means it's time for a new batch of free games through PlayStation Plus. In case you missed the initial announcement, March's free PS Plus games are Battlefield 2042, Minecraft Dungeons, and Code Vein — three excellent titles.

Battlefield 2042 is probably the biggest name of the bunch. It's the latest installment in EA's long-running first-person shooter franchise, set in a near-future world transformed by disorder. The Battlefield franchise has always been more well-known for its multiplayer suite, and that's no different with Battlefield 2042 which ditched a traditional single-player campaign for a more robust multiplayer offering. If you're playing on PS5, you can participate in large-scale combat with up to 128 players. Other multiplayer modes include Conquest, Breakthrough, and the all-new Hazard Zone. The arrival of Battlefield 2042 on PS Plus comes on the heels of the launch of Season 4: Eleventh Hour, which features new maps, Specialists, weapons, and more.

Battlefield 2042 also saw the recent return to the Class System. The franchise's four classic classes — Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer — have returned, giving players a better understanding of their role on the battlefield. The game has also seen weapon improvements, balancing, audio/visual enhancements, and a rework of the Breakaway map. Although Battlefield 2042 suffered from a rough launch, the game has seen numerous updates over its lifespan, so it's definitely worth checking out now.

If Battlefield isn't your cup of tea, you may enjoy Minecraft Dungeons, an action-adventure game set in the Minecraft universe. Inspired by classic dungeon crawlers, Minecraft Dungeons sends you on an epic quest to save the villagers and take down the evil  Arch-Illager. Play either solo or with friends and battle your way through treasure-filled levels, unlocking unique items and weapon enchantments along the way.

The third and final PS Plus game for March is Code Vein, an action role-playing game from Bandai Namco. Playable solo with an AI partner or with a friend online in co-op, you'll venture into a world of destruction, armed with powerful weapons and abilities bolstered by Blood Code enhancements, to take down the Lost.

All three of these games are playable on PS4 and PS5 and will be available to claim until Monday, April 3 for all tiers of PS Plus — Premium, Extra, and Essential. As a reminder, the Extra and Essential tiers of PS Plus — which cost a little bit extra — will be receiving additional games throughout the month that can be played for free.
