Yesterday, Sony released a new video for
God of War in which they
highlighted some of the best moments during those boat sections in the Lake of the Nine—all narrated by the Norse God of knowledge: Mimir.
In
God of War, all of the 9 realms are connected by one giant portal that sits right in the middle of the Lake of Nine, so it is only natural that players would spend a long time traversing its waters while exploring the surrounding areas before getting to the next realm, and most players didn't notice how dull these sections could be when joined Kratos, who can't tell a good story to save his life. This is when Mimir came into the picture, and players immediately realised how interesting these boat sections became since Mimir is a great storyteller.
Now, fans will be thrilled to find out that Cory Barlog has just announced that they are currently recording the Audiobook of the
God of War novelisation—which will be narrated in its entriety by Alastair Duncan; the voice of Mimir. Duncan has already done a lot of voice acting in the past, most notably as Bruce Wayne's trusty butler Alfred Pennyworth in cartoons like
The Batman and
Batman Unlimited.
The
God of War Audiobook will be available on the
28th of August in digital form. Santa Monica Studio has also confirmed that it will not be bundled with the physical copy of the novel, or at least not for now.
His vengeance against the Gods of Olympus years behind him, Kratos now lives as a man in the realm of Norse Gods and monsters. It is in this harsh, unforgiving world that he must fight to survive…And teach his son to do the same. This startling reimagining of God of War deconstructs the core elements that defined the series—satisfying combat; breathtaking scale; and a powerful narrative—and fuses them anew.
God of War is available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
