God of War released in 2018 and became one of the most acclaimed games to release in recent years - even going as far as to win the GOTY award from The Game Awards. With all the praise (and sales), you can only assume that there will be a sequel one day. Well, new job listings appear to reveal that Santa Monica Studio has already begun work on a follow-up.
On
Santa Monica Studio's very own website, they recently posted job listings which reveal that they're looking for a level designer, combat designer, cinematic artist, and more.
There's one very exciting thing that all of these listings have in common; each listing's requirements state that the applicant
"must have knowledge of God of War (2018) and be able to speak about the combat systems, mechanics and enemies."
So this is by no means a clean-cut, official confirmation or anything. It's simply something to go in tandem with the many
other rumours and hints at a
God of War sequel.
From Santa Monica Studio and creative director Cory Barlog comes a new beginning for God of War. Living as a man outside the shadow of the gods, Kratos must adapt to unfamiliar lands, unexpected threats, and a second chance at being a father. Together with his son Atreus, the pair will venture into the brutal Norse wilds and fight to fulfill a deeply personal quest.
