God Of War's newest episode from their series of developer podcasts -
Lost Pages of Norse Myth, gives fans a closer look at what to be expecting for the game.
The devs at Santa Monica Studio, talks about the origins of Kratos' new weapon - the legendary Leviathan axe which was forged by two dwarven brothers. The second subject was Kratos' shield which is described as "an armament worthy of a true guardian" and finally, the bow that belongs to his son, Arteus. God Of War fans would not want to miss out on this
episode, which is found on Playstation's website.
They say that this time around, Kratos is driven more by survival and protecting his son Arteus, rather than vengeance. Because of this, Kratos won't use the constant brutal and over-the-top violence he once had - as much. Instead, it will feel more controlled, using intense but short moments of extreme brutality for his and his son's protection. Note that the 'rage mode' from the previous games will also be returning.
Other gameplay features will include a noticeably closer, free-shoulder camera, the removal of quick-time events and much less button-mashing. The game is also reported to be an epic 25-35 hour long-game.
