Santa Monica's
God of War was released back in April, completely redefining the series and working as somewhat of a soft-reboot. The developers decided to do away with some conventions that, for some, were getting a bit stale, and focused on implementing some new combat mechanics, as well as delivering an emotional journey for the characters.
Upon release,
God of War became one of Sony's most well-received game in recent years, getting a lot of praise from video game media outlets; which ended up with a well-deserved 94 on Metacritic. The game is also being considered one of the best games of the year, rivaled only by Sony and Insomniac Games' very own
Marvel's Spider-Man.
Needless to say, Santa Monica's new take on
God of War is nothing short of a masterpiece and, like every great game, the developers ran into a few mishaps during early development stages; mishaps that are completely absent in the final product, of course.
Today, PlayStation has released a new video that shows us some of those glitches the developers came across when making the game, some of them are hilarious and prove that making a video game as good as
God of War can be no easy task.
Take a look:
His vengeance against the Gods of Olympus years behind him, Kratos now lives as a man in the realm of Norse Gods and monsters. It is in this harsh, unforgiving world that he must fight to survive…And teach his son to do the same. This startling reimagining of God of War deconstructs the core elements that defined the series—satisfying combat; breathtaking scale; and a powerful narrative—and fuses them anew.
God of War is available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
