According to a Spanish news outlet by the name of
Legion de Jugadores,
The Last of Us Part II's release date will be announced in two days' time.
The outlet supposed that one of PlayStation's
"State of Play" livestreams will take place on May 30th and focus exclusively on the highly-anticipated Naught Dog title. Their report states that some gameplay will be on show, topped off with a release date announcement - which will be within September according to the outlet.
Since the sequel was announced back in December of 2016, there have been countless claims made in regards to its release date - from
reputable sources to even
the game's composer - all of which have one thing in common: 2019. This rumour from Legion de Jugadores is no different. We'll just have to wait and see whether it the coming days play out as they have described them.
As well as the afformentioned corroborations, two more things make give this report an aura of credibility. Two weeks ago, it was revealed that
The Last of Us Part II was in its
final stages of development. As well as this, another reputable source recently claimed that a new trailer for one of PlayStation's major, upcoming first-party titles
will drop this week.
Should Sony be hosting a new livestream on Thursday, it will likely be announced soon. Therefore we'll find out whether the Spanish outlet's report is legitimate or not.
