Earlier today, we found out that the long-awaited and highly anticipated release of The Last of Us Part II has been delayed indefinitely on account of the Coronavirus pandemic that is unfortunately currently plaguing most of the world. The sequel was set to release on May 29th prior to the most recent delay. However, now the game's release date is uncertain.
Though, it's not all doom and gloom. In the wake of the unfortunate delay, some new screenshots have surfaced online. There are eight of then in total and they were all capturing using a PlayStation Pro console. There are some stunning visuals on show here and certainly some of the most realistic graphics we've ever seen.
Ellie predominantly features in most of them. However, they also provide us with a new look at the characters of Jesse, Dina, and Joel. There's also a shot of a character who we're yet to find out anything about. Given that, in the screenshot, he has multiple weapons aimed at him, it's doubtful that they will be of much significance.
Check out the new screenshots below (via PlayStation):
Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors. When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. As she hunts those responsible one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.
The Last of Us Part II will release exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
